BusinessWeek reports that Apple is luring publishers to their forthcoming tablet platform by offering features that Amazon can't, specifically: color photos, video and author interviews.
The article specifically cites Hearst Corp. (no surprise, given their development of Skiff, they are obviously looking forward to the future of interactive content), McGraw-Hill Cos. and Hachette Book Group, although other reports have pegged Apple as meeting with the big 6 in New York City over the last couple of weeks.
All in all, tomorrow's event in San Francisco is looking to be very interesting, and should capture the attention of the entire technology industry, and probably that of publishing as well. I'm sure Sony, Amazon, Barnes and Noble and all the other eReader manufacturers will have eyes locked on the announcement as well.
