Costa Rican sugar boycotted until they agree to stronger Intellectual Property laws

TechDirt reports that there is a freeze on sugar imports from Costa Rica until they agree to more stringent adherence to intellectual property laws.

Strong IP and Copyright laws apply to a blog about eBooks in that these are the same things preventing newer books from hitting the Public Domain as copyright law continues to be extended and intellectual property law was behind the DMCA act which prevents you from removing DRM from an eBook in order to facilitate the transfer from one device to another competing device.
