The iGo Everywhere Kindle is a pretty good buy at $12.95 for Kindle owners. Given the use of Micro USB there should be no reason this wouldn't work with a nook, either. It includes a wall adapter, car adapter, Micro USB tip and a retractable cable.
Personally, I made a major effort to replace every cable I could with retractable, as I found it much easier to travel without creating a bag full of cable-spaghetti. Retractable cables tend to cost more, but are real hard to tangle!
The other nice thing about iGo products are the replaceable tips - you could buy tips to charge other (non-MicroUSB) products.
If you already have all the power adapters and wall warts that you need, I have found eBay to be a great source for $2-$3 retractable Micro USB cables.
