Kindle 2: Great service, screen contrast issues?

TeleRead reports on a user who is replacing his second Kindle due to screen contrast issues. I have been astounded by the better quality on my nook versus my Kindle 2, after reading this report I wonder if I'm just having the same problem as John Hagewood.
