The Teclast K3 eBook Reader has been released. Teclast, a fairly well known Chinese manufacturer that of late has specialized in portable media players has a fairly interesting product, at 1499 Chinese Yuan (about US $219 and change as of this writing).
It has a 6" e-Ink screen, text to speec (English available), 8.9mm thin and 4gb of internal memory.
Supporting text, PDF, PDB, Microsoft Word, ePub, FB2, HTML and their own SKT format it's fairly versatile, but appears to have no DRM support, likely a deal breaker for many.
The battery is marginal, supporting 1,000 page turns, 20 hours of MP3 playback and 10-15 days of standby. With an SD slot rounding out the mix, it's basically just missing DRM support to be a very viable American market product.
