Free Kindle to Amazon Prime subscribers?

TechCrunch has news from a 'reliable source' that Amazon is mulling over an idea to give Amazon Kindles to subscribers to their Prime service:

Just as soon as they can work out how to do it without losing money.

Prime is a $79 service that offers free two day shipping and drastically reduced overnight and Saturday deliveries.

I suppose it's a good thing Amazon is getting dragged into reworked deals with publishers, since they already lose money on some new releases and best sellers - losing money on both ends (the razor and the blades) would probably not be a good model.
