Macmillan launches salvo against Amazon via NY Times

Jason Boog, reporting for GalleyCat reports that today's The New York Times has a full page ad for The Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande.

Atul has to share his ad with news that all the major papers love his book and that it's available everywhere... except Amazon.

While Amazon has agreed to Macmillan's demands for Agency-style pricing, they have yet to return direct sales of new print or eBooks for every Macmillan title I spot checked, including this one.

At this point, Amazon seems to be hurting themselves needlessly. They've already given in, now they're just preventing us from purchasing books at any price - and mums the word out of Seattle. I'm not sure what the delay is - but I can't see any positives for them in this.
