Sharp takes aim at e-Ink with new LCD technology

The 'continuous-grain silicon' technology allows for logic transistors to be placed directly on the LCD substrate, which permits the memory cells to be placed right next to LCD pixels allowing for reduced power requirements.

The LCD has more of a bluish cast to it, as opposed to e-Ink's gray/white cast.
