Third party nook battery hitting the market

NOTE: Be very careful whenever using third party batteries in your sensitive electronics gear!

SunPow has released a nook replacement battery that apparently will ship with the battery and a right-sized Philips screwdriver to aid your installation. The battery is billed as a Lithium Ion, 3.7 volt, 1530mAh battery using "high quality Japanese li-ion cells".

While I have the press release, the battery is still absent from their web site, and there was no pricing information available.

At $29.95 and free shipping, you might consider the official nook battery instead. Besides - at this point in the game, if you're battery is failing, you probably will have little trouble getting a free replacement under warranty.
