What's on your nook wishlist?

Beth @ nookverse has a wishlist for her next nook:

Full touch screen instead of the split with improved, intuitive navigation, color Pixel Qi or Mirasol screen, external expansion port access (without removing the cover) and added gestures rank high on my wishlist for nook 2. As far as nook 1 goes, I would love to see more gestures added instead of having to use the LCD’s direct controls. Having greater control over and options for embedded images in eBooks would be a fine thing, too. In general, I’d love for the BN store to drop DRM so that I had an excuse to buy more often from them.

I don't hold out much hope for losing DRM, but I would settle for an ADE update to allow B&N ePub books to be read on other readers. I agree that image handling stinks, in fact almost every eBook is lacking in inclded pictures and almost every reader is lacking in zoom controls. Heck, any reason they can't optionally be displayed full screen, or on the LCD or that matter?

My list is simpler:

  • Improved LCD responsiveness.
  • Fix the horrendous typos.
  • Faster store connections.
  • More magazines, more newspapers.
  • Easier article navigation in periodicals. Why can't the LCD have a next and previous article hot link?
  • Fix those typos!
  • Allow lend me multiple times, and for a user controllable period. I realize we don't own books the same way anymore, but let us pretend!
  • Indicate items are pre-orders in the store!
  • No touch screen for e-Ink and no Mirasol or other fancy technology. I hate the touchscreen glares. At least LCDs are bright enough to outweigh some of the issue. Why not Mirasol? I just want a new nook sooner than I think color ink screens will be widely available. Who wants a backordered nook so soon after the long waits!

On second thought, my list isn't so simple after all.
