New firmware for nook - v1.2 being released over the air to all owners

The nook 1.2 firmware release is on the way to all users via OTA update. Mine is downloading as we speak. According to SlashGear, we have the following to look forward to:
  • Enhanced in-store promotions for nook owners - hopefully this functionality is extended to all B&N stores and not just "some".
  • Improved opening of eBooks and periodicals.
  • Improved responsiveness when using Reading Now and Settings.
  • Current reading page and bookmarks saved properly when nook is powered off.
  • Books supporting "LendMe" are indicated as such in your library.
  • Daily subscriptions (newspapers) are visible via a folder, rather than being scattered across your library.
  • Improved "back" functionality when reading.
  • My Documents sorting by author and title.
  • Overall system improvements and battery optimization.
Still no mention of removing samples (super important) or deleting via My Documents (nice to have), but sounds like a great update. To trigger an update via 3G or WiFi if you can't wait, go into your B&N Library and check for new content. You should then see after a few seconds the update begin to download via a status display in the bottom right of your e-Ink screen.
